Record and Share a Video

Occasionally you may be asked to record a video and submit that video electronically for grading. Depending upon the device you use to record (e.g., iPhone, iPad, workstation, etc.) it’s simple to upload the video and share it from your YouTube account.


Let’s Begin: You  just captured an interesting video and are looking to upload and share it with your instructor. or classmates There are two ways to share the video – one via Camera Roll and the other via the YouTube app.

(NOTE: These instructions focus on the iPhone. The Android method is similar.)

Upload a Video via Camera Roll

Step 1: Go to Camera Roll and select the video

Step 2: Tap the share icon, it’s in the bottom left corner

Step 3: Tap the YouTube icon

Step 4: You may need to log into YouTube

Step 5: Provide a title, a description, select the video quality, and choose the sharing option (we recommend the Unlisted option).

Step 6: Tap Publish from the top menu

Now, just share the link with your instructor by pasting it into an: email, blog, journal, wiki, forum, assignment, etc.


Upload Directly from the YouTube App

Step 1: Launch the YouTube app on your device, you may have to sign in to your account

Step 2: Select the Camera icon, you may have to allow YouTube to access your photos

Step 3: Select the video you want to upload from your Camera Roll

Step 4: Provide a title, a description, select the video quality, and choose the sharing option (we recommend the Unlisted option).

Step 5: Tap Upload from the top menu

Now, just share the link with your instructor by pasting it into an: email, blog, journal, wiki, forum, assignment, etc.


Upload Directly from your Desktop

You can easily upload videos to YouTube from a computer. (Upload a Video – Movie 0:51)
